'Chemtrails' conspiracy: Shasta board to talk about jets' metal dumping
By Ryan Sabalow
Tuesday, August 5, 2008

A conspiracy theory that says government agencies are using jets to dump poisonous heavy metals into the atmosphere moves today from the realm of late-night talk radio call-in shows to the Shasta County supervisors chambers.

The Shasta County Board of Supervisors, acting as the Air Pollution Control Board, will hear at its 1:30 p.m. meeting a presentation by Dane Wigington and others about "heavy metal contamination" -- referred to by some as the "chemtrails" conspiracy.

Wigington, a 46-year-old renewable energy consultant from Bella Vista, like a growing number of conspiracy theorists, thinks a government cabal is using jets to dump metals into the atmosphere to combat global warming -- or for other, more nefarious purposes.

The theorists say the contrails of the jets provide the most visible evidence of the dumping, since on clear days, the vapor trails are unnaturally slow to dissipate and often appear in gridlike patterns.

But the proof locally is in soil and snow samples, Wigington said.

Area scientists have taken more than 40 samples in the north state, including on the sides of Mt. Shasta, and all of them showed abnormally high levels of heavy metals like aluminum, he said.

The metals are new and in places where they shouldn’t be, he said. The dumping may also be contributing to disastrous weather patterns, Wigington said.

“It’s tough not to connect to that with what happened in June with the 3,000-plus lightning strikes we had,” he said, adding that it’s important the public hear more about the alleged dumpings’ detrimental effects on the environment. “This is certainly a public health hazard.”

Shasta County Supervisor Mark Cibula said he requested that the board discuss the matter after receiving requests from community members.

Other board members also have expressed interest on the topic, he said.

Although he’s not sold on the conspiracy, Cibula said, he thinks it’s appropriate to hear what Wigington’s group has to say.

“Let’s look at the information and see what we’ve got there,” Cibula said.

Herbal Remedies: Excerpted from "The Herbs of Life, Health & Healing Using Western & Chinese Techniques" by Leslie Tierra, L. Ac. Herbalist; and from "Poisons From The Sky" by William Thomas

ECHINACEA:
Actions: Clears heat, cleans blood, lymph, lungs, stomach, liver.
Properties: Alterative, antibiotic, vulnerary, stimulant, antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-viral. Conditions: Bacterial and viral infections, inflammations, venomous bites (snake, insect, spider, take internally and externally), wounds, immune enhancing, colds, blood poisoning and toxicity, fevers, poison oak and ivy, boils and other skin infections, cancer. Inhibits hyalurinodase enzyme which causes bacteria to spread.

Precautions: Totally safe, but ineffective after 10 days. Rest from it for several days, then resume treatment.

Extra: Superior crisis herb, should be in all first aid kits. Apply externally and internally for bites and wounds. One of the most powerful and effective remedies against bacterial and viral infections and inflammations.

CAYENNE:
Actions: Stops bleeding, activates blood, kidneys, lungs, spleen, stomach, heart.
Properties: Stimulant, stringent, carminative, hemostatic, antispasmodic. Conditions: Heart tonic, poor circulations, colds, flu, indigestion, loss of appetite, joint aches and pains, lowered vitality and energy, diarrhea, cramps, toothaches, swellings, headaches, depression, bleeding/internal hemorrhaging, ulcers, sprains, arthritis. Breaks up congestion, clears mucous. Sprinkle on any external bleeding - it will not burn the skin. Eliminates body heat.

Precautions: Avoid if there is a tendency towards nosebleeds or if there is nervousness, a flushed face, AIDS or other wasting disease, or if there is any dryness or internal inflammation. Use carefully as it is very spicy - large doses cause vomiting. In acute cases, use large doses in short-term, and use small doses for long-term tonic.

Extra: Superior crisis herb, should be in all first aid kits. Add with other herbs to stimulate their properties, making the other herbs more potent.

CHAPARRAL:

Vitamins: Excerpted from "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" by James F. Balc

Multi-Vitamin & Mineral: Buy a good grade with a wife range of vitamins and minerals. Take daily.

CALCIUM: Vital for strong bones, heartbeat maintenance, transmission of nerve impulses, needed for strong bones, essential for blood clotting, helps prevent colon cancer, provides energy and may lower blood pressure. Protects bones and teeth from absorbing lead.
Precautions: Should not be taken by those suffering from kidney stones or kidney disease. It may interfere with Verapamil, a calcium channel blocker for the heart.

VITAMIN A: Antioxidant, helps to protect cells against cancer and other diseases. Needed for tissue repair/maintenance, bones and teeth formation, and protein utilization.
Precautions: Should not be taken in large amounts in pill form or as cod liver oil by those suffering from liver disease. Pregnant women should avoid amounts over 25,000 IU and children should not take more than 18,000 IU per month. Some antibiotics, laxatives and cholesterol-lowering drugs interfere with absorbtion. Diabetics and hypothyroid individuals should avoid beta-carotene because they cannot convert it to Vitamin A.

VITAMIN B: Coenzymes involved in energy productions. Antioxidant required for tissue growth and repair, adrenal gland function and healthy gums.
Precautions: B vitamins should always be taken together.

VITAMIN C: Protects against pollution, cancer, infection and lower immunity. Promotes wound healing.
Precautions: Diabetic and sulfa drugs may not be as effective when taken with Vitamin C. Pregnant women should not use more than 5,000 mg. daily. Infants may become dependent and develop scurvy. Aspirin, alcohol, analgesics, antidepressants, anticoagulants, oral contraceptives and steroids may reduce levels of Vitamin C.

VITAMIN E: Antioxidant, prevents cancer and cardiovascular disease. Precautions: Do not take iron with Vitamin E. Those suffering from diabetes, rheumatic heart disease or overactive thyroid should not use high doses. If hight blood pressure, start with a small amount and slowly increase.
