SECOND COMING

The second coming or the "Day of the Lord" as it is referred to in Old Testament, and the popular term of the "Rapture" are used to describe the same event.  The second coming is spoke of in the Old Testament, and our LORD referred to it many times in His teachings.

In Ezekiel 13:5-11.  "Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD.  They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word.   Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken?    Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD.  And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.  Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered mortar:   Say unto them which daub it with untempered mortar, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it."   Sometimes texts are talking about the Second Coming, and also the destruction of  the wicked after the 1000 years of judgment.

In Acts 2:20-21.  "The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:    And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."   This is a New Testament text saying the same thing as the Old Testament.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3.  "For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.    For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape."

In that day the righteous will say as stated in Isaiah 25:9-10.  "And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.   For in this mountain shall the hand of the LORD rest, and Moab shall be trodden down under him, even as straw is trodden down for the dunghill."

There is a popular teaching today, that spares the saints from going through the tribulation, or "time of trouble" as stated in the Bible.  In Psalms 27:5.  "For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock."  The Bible teaches that "he shall hide me in his pavilion" during the "time of trouble."

In Psalms 91:7  "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee."  This speaks of the protection the righteous will  have during the time of  trouble.  In Isaiah 26:20-21, tells us,  "Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.   For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain."  This tells the righteous to go into their house and shut the door, until the "indignation" is past.  The LORD will protect His people during the time of trouble such as never was.  Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, were saved from the fiery furnace, (Daniel 3:26),  so will the righteous be protected through the time of trouble at the end of this world.

In Daniel 12:1-3.  "And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.    And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.   And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever."

The time of trouble is a time of purification of those still alive on planet earth, who will go to heaven without seeing death.  They will go through a  Gethsemane type of experience, loosing everything on this earth, and only being left with their trust and faith in the LORD.    We are now in the final preparation for this time of trouble, and the soon coming of our LORD JESUS - SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (Malachi 4:2), who is soon coming back for his true children, who are few.

JESUS IS COMING SOON!
