White Ball Gown

Miss Sarah Peltron attends the ball in a wedding gown made over into an all occasion ball gown.  Fabric was precious during the war, and garments were often remade to extend their wear.

Mrs. Sharon Roberts has altered her wedding gown with the addition of black braid and ribbon.  Accessorized with black lace gloves and a black & white hair garland, it is a classic look for elegant balls.

Sharon is posing in front of the quilt she pieced and which the Sanitary Commission quilted during the 2000 reenacting season.  Each person who worked on the quilt signed it on the light-colored squares.  The quilt is being raffled to purchase materials for next years quilt.  See the quilt under construction at the Sanitary Commission Website.
