The Inquisitor! Here we examine "Protestantism" within our Holy Catholic Church! We will list and examine those dissident groups - left & right wing - that appear to have as their goal nothing less than the destruction of the Catholic Church. In my opinion, these groups are more dangerous than any of the anti-Catholic Protestant groups listed on my "Creeds" page. This is especially true of those radical left wing groups who remain in the Church. Like a cancer, they work from within the Body of Christ, often seeking positions of authority at parish and diocesan level, gradually eating away at the Catholic Faith. It's time that the dissidents - left & right wing - get with the program and give the Pope and Magisterium some respect and support, instead of undercutting Church teaching at almost every point. If the dissidents cannot get with the program, we will have to send them to the Protestants.
[Continued Below] |
Radical Left Wing Groups The virtual rallying cry of these dissident groups is: "The Spirit of Vatican II". I've come to the conclusion that whenever someone refers to the "spirit of Vatican II" you can almost be sure they are going beyond what that council taught. Otherwise, they would refer to an actual document or teaching of that council. Much like liberal Protestantism, these groups appear to have totally succumbed to liberalism, modernism, secularism, humanism, political correctness and the "World". Rather than the Church teaching and spreading the Gospel to the world, these groups would have the "World" teach the Church. Rather than looking to the Church guided by the Holy Spirit, these groups look more to the U.S. Constitution, Supreme Court and the humanism taught within the United Nations. Check the "links" pages of these radical groups; will take you to other "like minded" groups. ******************** Call to Action (CTA) Appears to be the forefront anti-Catholic liberal group. Highly organized and aggressively seeks new members willing to establish new "Chapters". Sponsors virtually every liberal and modernist cause. Here's what it says of itself:
According to the "links" section at my Sacramento Diocese, Call to Action has been condemned by the Bishop of Lincoln, Nebraska. I'll try to provide a "proof link" in the near future. In the meantime, Nice Job! Let's hear it for the Bishop of Lincoln! I think we will be needing and seeing more excommunications in the future.
Call to Action received an "F" rating for fidelity from Peter's Net.
Association for Rights of Catholics in the Church (ARCC) Here's what this group says of itself:
Make sure you check out ARCC's "Charter" (explicitely based upon the U.N. Charter) and their "Constitution." Another "F" rating from Peter's Net - obviously. We Are Church Calls itself "An unprecedented international effort to reform the Roman Catholic Church." Priests
for Equality Calls itself "A
Movement for Justice, Equality and Democracy Radical Catholic Page of Paul Halsall's extensive site. Actually, he has some good material. See his Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Catholic-Handbook page [no, I'm not kidding] where he explains why he doesn't choose the Episcopal Church. I agree with the comment in Peter's Net: "The site is produced by a homosexual who appears to love and hate the Church he claims to be a part of." Actually, I'm glad this person is still within our Church; I just can't accept his admittedly "Radical" orientation. And for me, the gay issue is the least of his problems. Another "F" rating from Peter's Net. Coalition of Concerned Canadian Catholics Another group who takes the "spirit of Vatican II" to absurd extremes. Promotes all of the standard liberal & modernist causes. FutureChurch Another dissident group which exploits the priest shortage to promote its dissident agenda. Make sure you check out its "How to Witness for Women's Equality" page; a guide for infiltration of the Church. ******************** Radical Right Wing Groups I have a great amount of sympathy for our "traditionalists". They seem to get bashed by everyone for holding onto what admittedly [in most cases] was Catholic piety prior to Vatican II. A curious thing though: I cannot recall where any "traditionalist" site or person has accepted any reform following Vatican II - not even ONE! Makes you wonder what these groups would have done as a result of changes brought about by councils and Church reforms at any number of points throughout history. Would they have split with the Old Catholics following the doctrine of papal infallibility at Vatican I? The most extreme of these groups, and the most likely to be listed here, are those who believe we currently do not have a pope - the "sedevacantists". They generally hold that Pius XII was the last real pope. Vatican II and all popes beginning with John XXIII, including JP2, are apostates and heretics. They are de facto schismatics (some already might have been excommunicated) who do not just prefer the traditional Latin Mass but claim that our New Mass is invalid. That I just cannot tolerate. While I myself would like to attend the Latin Mass, and have frequently posted how I would like more sung Latin at my New Mass parish (actually any sung Latin), I do not condemn the New Mass. But this brings up another issue: Are these groups technically still within the Catholic Church? Although the same question might be asked of the radical left groups listed above, these extreme right wing groups make greater efforts to separate themselves from the Church led by Pope John Paul II. [The radical left, remember, tends to stay in the Church, spreading its poison from within. And in our times of "political correctness", the radical left might even have more support in the Church than the right.] ******************** True Catholic (aka The True Catholic Church) Well, looks like not all are sedevacantists. This group elected it's own "Pope" - Pius XIII! Here's what this group says about the Church at its link "bogus Council Vatican II": "Rome has lost the faith and become the seat of the anti- Christ." Sounds like a candidate for my "Creeds" page. Don't know how many people elected or follow this "Pope", but its conclave committee apparently consisted of 3 laymen. I wonder if the other sedevacantists will turn to this "Pope"? Site donated by Michael W. www.sedevacantist.org URL says it all. So do this site's pages. Donated by Sknapper. ******************** Observations I'm still throwing this page together and will probably have plenty of observations as I reflect more on the matter. However, I can say this: I am STRONGLY opposed to running from a liberal parish/priest in search of a more orthodox parish/priest, for several reasons:
There is no way I'd leave my parish if things turn for the worse. I guess it's part of my nature to be a "fighter" in a sense (being both an attorney and martial artist :-) I say DO NOT RUN! Instead stay and fight! Confront them! Expose them! Why leave and make life easier for them? Instead, make life hard for them! I know how hard it is to confront a suspected "apostate" priest, especially one who seems to have support from a strong clique in the parish. As Catholics, we are not conditioned to confront our Church leaders. But in these times we may have no choice; in fact, it may be our duty to support the Magisterium. Besides, maybe that "apostate" priest is secretly wishing someone would help deliver him from an apostate clique in the parish!
