Why
Jesus spoke in parables
(St. Matthew,15:12,-16,)
- Then came his disciples, and said unto him, knowest thou
that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
But he answered and said, Every plant,
which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if
the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.
Then answered Peter and said unto him, Declare unto us this
parable.
And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding?
The parable of The rich man and Lazarus is truth waiting to
be discovered, the truth is stored in hidden key words to be unlocked and understood. This
parables theme is about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, it is also about life, death,
and the house of Israel. It is not about some terrible place called hell, where people
burn, and are punished day and night, if this place exists. Adam would have had knowledge
of it. For Adam did sin and was guilty of sin, therefore Adam deserved the penalty of sin,
and the penalty of sin is death. So death or non existence, is in fact reality. In the
first book of the bible there is no mention of a terrible place of torments, if this place
really exists. God would have stated so in Genesis. So place of torments, must have
another meaning. In( Isa,1:18,). The Lord says Come now and let us reason together,
saith the Lord: So let us use our ability to reason out the scriptures, to understand
the meaning of this parable. God does not keep the truth to himself for he teaches us
truth in his written word it is there for us to understand, if truth is really what we are
seeking out. God did not keep the truth from the Pharisees or from any other non
believing Jew of the time, but Jesus because of their blindness, did hide the truth, if
the Pharisees would of had an interest in wanting to know the truth, the truth would
have been revealed to them, or they could have studied the word of God for the meaning of
truth. This parable covers the life span of the house of Israel. Starting from the evening
before the day, that God had Moses deliver the house of Israel, out of Egypt, it covers
the rich history of the house of Israel as a nation under the guidance of God, from the
time of leaving Egypt to the present time of the time of Jesus, and it covers so much
more. Let us now study for truth, the truth which points out, that the rich man is
a Pharisee, and the beggar, Lazarus, is our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
If you seek knowledge, and the wisdom to understand knowledge, than the deep truth of Gods
word, will surface
This is an in depth study of
(St. Luke,16:19,-31,)
The rich man and Lazarus.
- There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine
linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
- In order to understand this verse, one needs to understand what
being rich is from Gods point of view. God speaks to the children of Abraham, and
says to them in (Exo,19:5,) Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my
covenant, then ye shall be a particular treasure unto me above all people: for all
the earth is mine: (Deut,4:20,32:8,-9,)(1Kings,8:53,) (Ps,135:4,) (Is,41:8,) (Jer,10:16,).
So Jesus is saying that the rich man in verse 19, is one of the children of
Abraham. One who is under the covenant of inheritance. Jesus says the rich man was
clothed in purple and fine linen, So let us study what purple and fine
linen represent. The color purple is symbolic of royal power, royalty, dignity,
majesty, and sovereignty. So purple is symbolic of all that God is upon his throne.
Purple and fine linen represents the tabernacle,
(Exo,25;1,-4,26:1,31,36,:27:9,16,18,28:5,-8,15,35:6,). The Temple of God in Jerusalem. (2
Chron,2:14,3;14,) Earthly kings.(Judges,8:26,)(Esther,1:6,8:15,)(Song of Solomon,3:10,).
It also represents how the Pharisees saw their selves. Jesus says they fared sumptuously
every day. According to the dictionary, the word sumptuously means. Involving or showing
lavish expenditure, luxurious, magnificent. The Pharisees were well known for this
kind of display. (St,Matt,23:5,-7,). In (St, Matt,23:2,). Jesus says, the scribes and
Pharisees sit in Moses seat. Which means Law giver. The biblical meaning of
the word seat is Exalted position. In (Matt,23:5,). Jesus is saying the
Pharisees show their holiness outwardly to be seen of men. Jesus says the
Pharisees, make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of
their garments. Phylacteries, were prayer bands which were put in small leather
cases and fastened to the forehead and the left arm. Which contained four passages of
scriptures from the old testament. (Exo,13:1,-10, 11:16,)(Deut,6:4,-9,11:3,-21. The
meaning of the word borders (Numbers,15:38,39,). The meaning of the word rooms
in (St.Matt,23:6,). Means place or position in society. So one learns that a Pharisee was
a man of authority, a man of earthly wealth, a man of upper status.
Now with the knowledge of understanding, that has been gained in
this study. One has a true understanding of verse (19). As I think it was meant to be
understood. Let each person who studies this. Judge for their self, if this is truth, or
not truth. Let us now reconstruct verse (19) for its meaning, as well as verses
(20,through31,).
(19) The scribes and the Pharisees, they know that they are
of God, and they know that they are loved of God, even more than the common Jew, and
certainly more than the Samaritans and the Gentiles. They know that God loves them so
much, that God has exalted them above the common Jew, placed them in the seat of Moses,
not only to give the Law, but also to be the ones enlightened to interpret the meaning and
only meaning, of Gods holy Law. They think that because of their great loyalty to their
God. That God has elevated them in status, and giving them earthly wealth, enough to dress
like kings, and the right to be glorified by men, for their faithfulness to their God. And
so they show their faithfulness to God, by wearing large leather cases, and by enlarging
the borders of their garments, allowing them to be able to wear a larger riband of blue.
For the Scribes, and the Pharisees, believe they are the most faithful, of the
children of Abraham. |
