A few homepage tips:

• Name the page you want people to see first either "default.htm" or "index.htm". If you name it something else, the person will have to know the exact url to see it.
• Keep image file size as small as possible, this means the size the image file is, not the size of the image (height or width). Smaller image file sizes keep download time to a minimum and make it more enjoyable to view your page.
• Graphic types: The only two graphic types currently supported by all browsers are .gif and .jpg
• Screen size: Remember not everyone has a 17" monitor. If you design your page on a large monitor, try to view it on another persons monitor to ensure you do not have what is called "run-off". This is where your page contents run off the right of our screen. This is very annoying and can cause some people to even leave your site because they don't want to scroll sideways as well as down.
