Psoriasis

My first big thing I want to tell you about Psoriasis is "You Can't Catch It From Me"!!

Psoriasis is a common immune-mediated chronic skin disease that comes in different forms and varying levels of severity.
Psoriasis is normally found on the knees, elbows, scalp, hands, feet, and lower back.
10-30% of the population with Psoriasis end up with
Psoriatic Arthritis

Psoriasis general appearance is patches of raised red skin covered by a flaky white buildup.  There are a few other appearances that aren't as common, a pimple-ish (pustular psoriasis) or burned (erythrodermic) appearance.

Psoriasis causes intense itching and burning.

What causes Psoriasis??
Psoriasis is an over development of skin cells.  A normal persons skin cell lives about a month and then sheds from the body.  A person with psoriasis skin cells produce and live about 3 to 6 days making it extremely hard for the body to shed the dead cells.  This causing them to build up on certain areas of the body.

There are several types of Psoriasis.  The most common being plaque psoriasis.  The others are Guttate, Inverse,
 Erythrodermic, & Pustular.

Please eructate yourself more on Psoriasis... it was really difficult for me when psoriasis broke out all over my body and no one wanted to get close to me because they were afraid they would catch it from me.  If more people understood the illness they wouldn't be so afraid of being around people just because of the way they look.
