That Rock was Christ

Many are confused about the God of the Old Testament, and the God of the New Testament, they think they are two different Gods, one mean and one loving.  But in  1 Corinthians 10:2-5.  “And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;   And did all eat the same spiritual meat;  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.  But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.”

Here it clearly tells us that the Rock who lead Moses in the wilderness was the God of the Old Testament, and was the “spiritual Rock,” and clearly states “that Rock was Christ.” So it was Christ that gave the Ten Commandments on Mt. Sinai, He was the God who thundered on the Mountain.

In  Leviticus 19:18.  “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.”

Deuteronomy 5:10.  “And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.”

Deuteronomy 6:5.  “And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”

These text show that the God of the Old Testament also taught LOVE, but He was dealing with a “stiff-necked” group of people who had been slaves, and had lost the teachings of Abraham.  They refused to walk by faith, and were rebellious as proven by Exodus 32:8.  “They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.”

The same God who will fulfill at the end of time, which we are now living—when this prophecy can for the first time be fulfilled:   Revelation 11:18.  “And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.”

This is further stated in  Revelation 19:11-15.  “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.  His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He himself.  And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.   And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.   And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”
