DELUSION #15
ALL ANGELS ARE GOOD

INTRODUCTION TO ANGELOLOGY

Throughout this book we have repeatedly referred to angels.  We have mentioned both good and evil angels and the evidence of their work, but we have not directly considered just who they are and how they fit into the great controversy between good and evil.  There is need for understanding about the extent of their influence in the world and in our lives.  We have skirted this subject until now so that we could focus upon the delusions themselves.

The influence of evil angels pervades all the delusions, as we have seen in the Paranormal experiences and the Marian Apparitions.  Being our focus was not on angels per say, it is time to look more closely at them because of their intimate involvement in the affairs of this world and the role they play in this time of the end.

ANGELIC DELUSIONS

EVIL ANGELS AND THEIR WORK:

From the beginning of this book we have been sharing with the reader the work of evil angels in conjunction with Satan and his demons to thwart the setting up of God's kingdom in the heart temple. Because of this, there is no need to go into great detail about them other than to point out that having the same spiritual power they can and do masquerade as angels of light. They can perform the same wondrous miracles causing people to believe that they are angels of light.  The difference is that they have a different agenda. Where the heavenly angels are working and helping people to secure their eternal life and salvation, the evil angels are bending their every effort to secure the eternal death of all the inhabitants of earth. Where heavenly angels perform acts which help and save lives, drawing peoples to God's infinite love for them, evil angels have only one goal - the destruction of the world and mankind. Their intent is to maim, kill, and cause as much agony and trauma as they can.  However  when it suits their cause, they will abundantly bless those who serve them in order to hold the victim more firmly in their grasp.

TELLING THE DIFFERENCE:

The purpose of this chapter is to bring into clear focus the likenesses and differences between the good and evil angels.  To know how Satan and his hosts work, one needs only to observe what they do and say and then apply the Biblical standard to see whether it is according to the Word and to the testimony. If it is not, it is because there is NO LIGHT in them.

Before considering angels and their work, general guidelines can be set down which will be helpful in comparing the two groups.  The difference between how the enemy and God works with people is very clear once it is understood.

The Enemy's Approach:

In general the enemy's primary mode of operation is the shotgun approach - reaching out to large numbers of people through the mass media.  The enemy makes the burden of proof rest on the event or happening.  By dazzling and enchanting them with spectacular signs and wonders he is drawing in innocent people worldwide; his only purpose - to deceive,  if possible the very elect.   However, as we have seen, the enemy and His angels also work with people on an individual basis when it comes to things like healings. He is not restricted to just one approach.  Consider for a moment the work of evil angels in healing people.

Supernatural healing is more and more being attributed to the work of angels. Mediums or therapists, as they are called, report seeing a white glow or hands moving and guiding their hands. In some instances therapists themselves were healed of some life-threatening disease through a paranormal experience.

Television prime time stories devoted to interviewing people who have been healed are numerous and increasing. Some faith healers report seeing feminine angels, and one woman who was a dyslexic with a speech problem was healed by an angel so that now she leads groups of individuals in how to contact their angels.

One indication of the source of these healings is that in almost all of the reports, credit is not given to the Lord for the healing, but to angels. This is angel worship pure and simple. They are not God, but created beings, sent by Him to serve mankind.

The Lord's Approach:

In contrast The work of the Lord through His angels is on an individual basis.  With God there is no mass media hype at this time. However, this will change after probation for the world closes. The manifestations of His power and glory will be seen worldwide as stupendous events,  far exceeding what the enemy can do.

End time events foretold in the Bible will come to pass, and every living person in the world will either be sealed unto salvation or sealed unto eternal death. By that time the deceptions of Satan will not affect the Lord's people, for the will already be safe within His fold.  The difference between good and evil angels can be summed like this:
ANY MANIFESTATION THAT IS SUPERNATURAL, SPECTACULAR,AMAZING, AND SOMETHING THE WHOLE WORLD WONDERS AFTER, AND SPEAKS, NOT ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE IS FROM THE ENEMY.

As you no doubt have noticed, there is suddenly a great emphasis being placed upon angels in books and the media. Eyewitness accounts tell of how people have been saved or helped by angels, and of other angelic miracles taking place.

But experiences with angels is not new, for heavenly angels from the beginning of earth's time have been assigned by God as guardians of human beings.  At the same time Satan has been given power to do the same kind of things. Evil angels are assigned to humans from the womb to the tomb. The great controversy is played out in each person's life until the day they die.

Recent developments in the activities of evil angels have taken an alarming twist. They appear to have taken the offensive and are making their presence felt in the world, much more so than heaven's angels.  This is all out war and is becoming very visible.  They are intensifying their campaign.  They are materializing and manifesting almost continually now, by impersonating the dead, aliens from outer space, and UFO's.

The battle long foretold by Scripture between the forces of good and evil is heating up. Like it or not, every living person in this world is part of this last great war, either on one side or the other. No one is a spectator in this last act of the last scene of earth theatre of the universe.

CONFUSION ABOUNDS:

Confusion abounds in regard to angels and their work because most people do not realize or believe there exists both good and evil angels.  Adding to the confusion,  evil angels, almost without exception come disguised as good or heavenly angels on a mission of mercy. This is not hard to understand, for both have many of the same attributes, for both groups were created by God.

The false believe that all angels are heaven sent, adds to the confusion. making it hard for people to differentiate between the two groups.  But there need be no confusion once people understand how to tell the difference between them.  None need be deceived. The telltale signs are everywhere if you know what to look for.  Their, actions, and their messages clearly identify each group.

The Unholy Mindset:

It is significant and sad to notice the mindset of book authors, and media productions.  Seldom is there mention made of God or the Lord as being responsible for the miracles. Angels, who themselves are created beings just like us, are given the credit for all these happenings, rather than God who commissions them to do their work.

Without exception good angels never wait after they have fulfilled their mission of mercy. They immediately vanish, and seek no thanks or acclaim.  As created beings, they are only carrying out the wishes of the Godhead, and do not wish to turn the attention of the recipient of their work toward themselves. They know it was pride that caused Satan's downfall, and they see the horrible results of his choice.  It is God alone that is responsible for any act of mercy they perform. They are only doing His bidding.

Never in the media is there any mention made of the battle between the good and evil angels which has been going on for six thousand years.  All sightings, manifestations, and angel visits are unexplained and mysterious, supernatural and paranormal. From reported experiences of people, as aired in the media, it appears the forces of evil are far more numerous than those of good. This is the way the enemy would have it.

We say it "appears" they are more numerous because in fact it is just the opposite. When Satan was cast out of heaven, only 1/3rd of the angels followed him.  That left 2/3rds who stayed with God. Then too, Satan, who was created, can only do what God permits him to do.  Although he would make us believe he has infinite power, he is extremely vulnerable and weak. He lost the battle at the cross when Jesus, as a human without any divine intervention or help, defeated Satan and all his evil hosts.

MUCH MORE TO KNOW:

There is much more about angels that needs to be understood in order to see the extent of their influence in these end times, especially the part they will play in Satan's final delusion, the Personation of Christ's coming. It is time for all to give more detailed attention to angels, who they are, how their lives intertwine with ours, what they do and how they do it, their role in the affairs of man, and to especially consider the difference between fallen and unfallen angels.

Life of Angels Comes From God:

Because angels are created beings, all their life force and strength comes from God. If it were not for His sustaining power, all they would cease to exist. Whatever life force remains in Satan and his angels, is what they received when they were created.  This life force has been slowly ebbing away for millennia and will be at last taken away from them when they at last pay the penalty for their sins. Angels are sustained only by the power of God's Spirit which gives them life, and their prodigious strength and power comes only from God.

Today Subject of Angelology is Found Everywhere. Books and articles, TV and radio programs feature angels and encounters people have had and are having  with them.  The majority of this material is just another well hidden delusion, designed to deceive as Satan hides his true identity as an angel of light.  The word "angel" appears 292 times in thirty-five books of the Bible, but other words used to designate angels boast references to angels well beyond this number.

Curiosity and questions about angels abound. There are few topics that intrigue and generate more interest. For many centuries countless generations have wondered and had questions about them.  When were the angels created?  How many are there? Are angels masculine or feminine? Did Jesus ever appear in the form of an angel. Do angels die?  Do they know everything? Do angels have emotions? How strong are they?  Where do they live? What do they do in heaven and on earth?  Why don't guardian angels always save us?  Do they only help good Christian people? Are they part of the new age movement?   In this study we will answer some of these questions by using the Bible, the only true source of knowledge on this subject, plus personal experiences and encounters people have had with angels.  We will point out the differences between good and evil angels.

WHAT ARE ANGELS?

ANGELS ARE  CREATED BEINGS:

As mentioned there  are  two  groups  of angels, good and evil. At the time of their creation all pwere holy and perfect as they first came from the hand of God. There were no evil angels. The Bible tells us how they are both similar and different.

The word "angel" in the Hebrew and Greek means (messenger).  Other words for "angel" which describes them are "manifestations," and "servants." Most people know what a messenger and servant are, but what is a manifestation? The dictionary says: "To manifest means to reveal, prove, display, and put beyond doubt the nature of that which is being manifested."

Along  with wondering what angels are,  many have wondered how many angels there are. This question has been asked for generations, but God has not told us and the Bible is not specific. The apostle John reported seeing ten thousand-times-ten-thousand and thousands of thousands encircling the throne of God. That would be one hundred million plus if that is a literal number. It is thought by some that their number might be made up according to God's number which is 7, numerals like 77 to the 77 power, which is true would be a number so vast that it is as infinity beyond human ability to comprehend or grasp.

ANGELS AND HUMANS COMPARED

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ANGELS AND HUMANS:

Angels Not Human's Who Have Died:

A popularly held belief (delusion) is that when people die they become an angel and return to earth to help other people.  This misconception has been aided and abetted by popular movies and TV shows such as "It's A Wonderful Life," starring Jimmy Stewart, "The Littlest Angel," and the TV series "Highway to Heaven," starring Michael Landon.  This is not according  to  the Scriptures.  ANGELS ARE CREATED BEINGS,  spoken into existence by a direct command from God. This is called "immediate creation."

People Not Created But Born:

When God made man,  he created him by forming him out of the dust of the ground. This is call "mediate creation." Only Adam and Eve were created in this way.  The rest of the world's population was born and are of the seed of Adam and Eve.  ANGELS ARE CREATED,  MAN IS BORN.

Angels Do Not Die, Humans Do:

Angels are eternal spirit beings and are not subject to death (except Satan and his hosts who will perish at the end of the thousand years).  Not so with humans.  When sin entered the world,  and Adam and Eve no longer had access to the tree of life, without the ability to procreate the human race would have died out in a single generation and there would have been no one left on earth.

Angels were not given the power to reproduce themselves, because there was no reason for them to do so. Every angel created by God was created for time and eternity to help run God's universe. They are just as necessary in this eon of eternal time as they were when first created.

Man Created A Little Lower Than Angels:

The Bible tells us that God created man a little lower than the angels, but at the second coming of Jesus, man will be changed and be slightly above them.  Exactly what this means we are not told, but it may be, because man has had to suffer the agony and pain of sin, infected with the Spirit of Evil, an experience no other creature in all of God's universe has faced, that God rewards those who are faithful by recreating them to a higher rank than the angels.

Scripture tells us that when the saints get to heaven, they will sit and rule with God as Kings and Queens, something angels have not and will never do.  It also says that for a thousand years they will judge the wicked out of the book of death and pass sentence. They will also rule whatever that means for at least for the thousand years of the millennium.

Angels will not be the bride of Christ as the Bible says the 144,000 are. All these activities describe a higher rank than that of the angels.  Besides this there will be physical changes as the saints receive their immortal bodies. Although they will be flesh and blood, they will no longer be bound by the restrictions of time and space.  That which was taken away from them when man sinned, will be restored in the earth made new. Man will, like the angels, be able to fly by thought, or transport himself through the air. It may well be that this will be accomplished by his guardian or accompanying angel. However it will be done, it will be a profound change from man's present state.

Another way angels and man are different is their dimension related to time and space, that means the type of bodies they have.

Angels Are Fourth Dimensional Spirit Beings:

As fourth dimensional beings angels are unrestricted by time and space. They can move instantly through time and space, and are able to move through solid objects, to disappear and appear at will. They also have the power to materialize solid objects such as trucks, cars, or whatever they desire. Of course we have no idea how they do this, but know that they do. Both good and evil angels have the same characteristics and skills.

Although they have bodies, they are not material bodies composed of atoms and molecules. However, they can assume any form they desire, that of a person, children, or animal. Ezekiel describes seeing four angels around the throne, each respectively having the head of a man, ox, lion and eagle. (Eze. 1:10) They also had feet like a calf.

Angels have prodigious, unimaginable strength by human standards, and can work with nature to create terrible wind and rain storms (Hurricanes, Tornadoes, cause drought, control weather, alter the ocean currents like El Nino, cause earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, etc. They have an intimate knowledge of science, natural, physical, and chemical.

Evil angels create solid matter like metals, viruses and bacterial mutants which plague all living things. They can alter genes, cause mutations.  They cannot create life from nothing (one thing Lucifer was jealous about). But although they cannot create life from nothing, they can and do genetically engineer life forms sometimes creating some hideous and fearsome creatures like dinosaurs which all perished at the time of the flood. They were not taken into the ark because God did not create them.

Evil angels manufacture or mix chemicals creating either pleasant or repulsive odors or material like feces to harass humans. It was Satan who inspired humans to crack the secret of atomic energy.  They can manufacture tangible, physical objects,  such as UFO's and their propulsion systems which obey the laws of physics.  There is scientific documented data and metal samples showing that UFO's are made of a metal man cannot create.

Along with this UFO delusion, they pose as alien beings, taking hideous life forms as seen in some tabloid magazines.  There are accounts of women in Russia, South America, and America, who have been abducted by so-called aliens and inseminated, and bear children that are sometimes hideous.  These creatures have been and still are being photographed and monitored in hospitals and research centers.

Many people think these accounts are made up and frauds, but they are real, and have occurred as reported. This has been going on for 1,000's of years, since before the flood. Time will prove out the truth of these kinds of happenings.

Other abilities angels have as fourth dimensional beings is flying through space without need of air, food, or water. They also move from one place to another by thought; that is, they just think themselves somewhere and they are there. As the reports and evidence keeps coming, it is apparent that angels have far more ability and power than we have previously been aware of.

Humans Are Third Dimensional Beings:

By contrast, humans are three dimensional beings (created or formed by God from the dust of the ground).  Because of this, and possibly only after man fell, he is restricted by time and space, therefore operates in a different sphere of existence and in different ways from angels. Angels operate in the supernatural realm, man in the natural.

Angels Heaven's Work Force:

Angels are part of God's work force, doing Gods bidding in helping to run His universe. They help with the affairs of state and carry on the business of running heaven and the rest of the universe,  and especially earth and dealing with the sin problem.

We know from the Bible that, angels whether from above or below, have rank and order,  and that this order is very much like an army with leaders and followers. The highest angel in heaven is Michael the Archangel, or Jesus, who is the Son of God, and who was not created like the other angels, but rather is the Creator Himself. Before his fall, Lucifer was next to Jesus in rank, followed by captains and lesser leaders. When he fell his place was taken by Gabriel.

Humans Earth's Work Force:

Unlike angels, man was not created to be part of heaven's work force, but rather to be God's representative to run planet earth. To man was given charge of all the animals, birds, creatures of the water, plants, trees, etc., to tend and watch over them. In doing this God hoped that Adam and Eve would out of love and appreciation, do like the angels -- obey Him, and give Him love, praise and glory. This is the way it was before sin, and still is on the other inhabited world's, for their leaders did not fall like Adam and Eve did. Scripture calls the leaders of the other planets "sons of God," a phrase which also is applied to angels.

Thus can be seen the difference between the God ordained activities for angels and man. Each with their respective skills and abilities are able to carry out the work for which they were created, angels as fourth dimensional beings and man as a third dimensional being, perfectly suited to carry out his ordained work on earth.

SIMILARITIES BETWEEN ANGELS AND HUMANS

Both Have Same Emotional Feelings:

Both angels and humans share the full range of emotions, such as love and hate, anger and fear (of the Lord), sadness and gladness, sorrow and joy, etc. This is understandable since God made us like himself.  That man was created in the image of God means, that God too has emotions. Scripture records many of God's emotions such as love, anger wrath, jealousy, sorrow, etc. But because He is God, His emotions are infinitely more intense than what humans experience.

The same holds true of angels who reflect God's emotions. Heaven is in continual empathy with man and plight. They feel with us in our hurts and joys, pleasures and sorrows. Because of their love for mankind, Jesus and the Father feel all our emotions with us.  When we are sad, they are sad.  When we weep, they weep.  When we rejoice in the Lord,  they rejoice. When a loved one or friend dies, or tragedy strikes, they feel with us.  When a person falls and stumbles into sin, all heaven is saddened.

Ellen White mentioned many times the emotions and feelings of the angels.  She mentions their longing or desire to be in the presence of the Father around the throne. She saw them in vision, puzzled by the strangely inconsistent behavior of human beings.

To the angels,  the course followed by human beings seems strangely inconsistent. They see how plainly degradation is revealed on the side of unbelief and indulgence of appetite. They see how untiringly Satan is working to destroy the image of God in man.  They wonder why beings dependent on their Creator for every breath they draw act so unreasonably and inconsistently; why they choose the side of the one who crucified Christ and who has filled the world with strife and envy and jealousy.... UL 321

When Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane the angels looked on,  longing to come to His aid, to comfort and deliver Him if possible, or even to die in His stead.  When He died on the cross, they looked on with horror, with breaking hearts they mourned and wept unrestrained.

The Father was also weeping for His beloved Son, as He watched him tortured and finally killed, but it had to be this way, for the penalty for sin was death.  Jesus who never sinned once, chose to take upon Himself all the sins of the world, to feel the weight of every sin, past, present, and future, a weight of guilt so heavy that His heart actually burst from the strain (as seen by the blood and water coming out of his side when a sword was thrust into his side. All so that He could set man free from the penalty of breaking God's law.

Without question when the angels and inhabitants of the other world's in the universe looked upon this scene of horror, they were shocked and appalled.  This had to be the most horrendous time ever in all the eons of eternity past. In truth it can be said that the whole universe wept, grieved, and mourned for their beloved Leader and Creator.

Today we see God's anger building and beginning to be seen and felt in the world because of all the wickedness on earth. His wrath has been kindled against those who have rejected the gift of His beloved Son.  The angels who reflect God's emotions, share in this wrath. Angels of wrath and vengeance have already let loose the four winds of strife. This explains the tremendous rise natural catastrophes, and the evil acts committed by demon possessed men.

Both Angels and Humans Are Servants:

Not only are angels and people alike in their emotions, but they both share the same kind of work. Angels and humans exist and were created to be servants of the most high God, but with a difference.

Angels were created to serve God and mankind here on earth as well as help God run the universe. They are His working force. Man was created from the dust of the ground to also serve and worship God and to be a servant of earth, appointed as guardians and stewards of all creation on earth.

Although man and angels have different spiritual and physical attributes both are commissioned as servants of God and their fellow beings.  Man and angels were meant to be closely allied, working together and helping each other.

Both Angels and Humans are Messengers:

In the Bible the word "angel"  can refer to either an angel or human, depending upon the context in which the word is used. Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines "messenger" as having both meanings. Therefore, both "man" and "angels" can be considered messengers. A messenger is a bringer of news or information, in this case news of salvation, and the end of the world; messages of warning to the inhabitants of what is soon to come.  This is the same work of heavenly angels.  This is why we were created and our God given assignment.  As Servants and Messengers, we should be obedient to God in all things just as the holy angels are. We should love God with all our hearts. We should follow the example of the angels in finding ways to serve God as they do. Like angels, we should:  be there when God needs us; tell the good news;  give spiritual guidance and direction to those who are lost; help and protect those in need. Like angels we should worship God as they do, in the beauty of holiness,  offering praise and worship to God. When we do this, the angels join with us.

Humans and Angels Work Together:

God's plan from the time Adam and Eve were created, was for humans and angels to be companions, to work together as friends, complimenting each others strengths. Since that time, millennia after millennia  God has worked through His human servants and messengers in conjunction with the angels to accomplish His purposes in the lives of individuals who are in need.

It is through prayer that men and angels work most effectively together. Prayer is man's communication link with heaven. Without prayer no relationship with God is possible. There are many kinds of prayer, such as prayers for forgiveness, thanksgiving, praise and glorifying God.

THE ROLE OF INTERCESSORY PRAYER:

The most power weapon in all God's universe, and the most powerful tool at man's disposal in helping others is intercessory prayer. When we pray this kind of prayer, angels work together with us to bring substance to these prayers.  Intercessory prayer is interceding on behalf of someone that needs divine help. It is the Holy Spirit who places the burden on the heart to pray on behalf of someone.

The following incidents dramatically illustrate this point, though seldom are the results so obvious. This incident was told by Roger Morneau and taken from his book, "Incredible Answers to Prayer."

One Friday afternoon in April as I drove home from work, I passed a F.W. Woolworth store and decided to stop and pick up a couple if items that I needed.  Returning to my car, I thought I might as well take a few minutes to process the day's paperwork.  The thermometer had reached into the high 70s. Getting into the car. I quickly opened the windows and let the heat out.  A few minutes later a green Mercury pulled into a parking place two spaces away.  Glancing out of the corner of one eye, I saw a middle-aged couple with the woman at the steering wheel.

"Mary, you will have to turn the key so that I can roll up this power window." the man said.  "Jim,  you're stupid.  I've told you a hundred times to roll the windows up while the engine is still running. Won't you ever learn?"

The man opened his mouth, and a flurry of profanities poured out, a mixture of the sacred and profane such as could not fail to get the message across to his wife that her words had touched a sensitive spot. Getting angrier by the moment, he accused her of having wrecked what had been a perfect day of refusing to keep her big mouth shut.

What a wicked man I thought to myself.  Then I immediately prayed, "Jesus please forgive them.  By the mighty power of Thy Holy Spirit, please rebuke the demonic forces oppressing their minds, and bless their lives with the sweet peace of Thy love."

Instantly the verbal storm stopped. For about 20 seconds neither said a word, then the man broke the silence. "Mary, I am sorry I got so angry. Really, I feel bad now that I spoke to you in the way I did. I don't know why I get so angry at times. I can actually feel anger swell up in me toward people I dearly love. Please forgive me, and I promise to put forth real effort not to repeat these outbursts."

Then it was beautiful to hear her admit that she was at least partly at fault for not being careful with her words, and at times actually took pleasure in verbally jabbing him. Promising to be more considerate in the future, she gave him a peck of a kiss, put the window up, and they both got out of the car to go shopping.

Stepping to the parking meter, the husband studied his coins to feed the meter, and having no dime or nickels, turned to his wife. "Sugar pie, would you be kind enough to look in your purse for a dime?"

"How can I refuse to help when you are treating me as a lady? Do you realize, Jim, that you haven't called me your sugar pie since the kids were little?" After he put the coins in the meter, she grabbed him by the arm,  and like two newlyweds they proceeded to do some shopping.  As I sat in my car I was more than surprised over the drastic transformation that had taken place in their lives, all because I was willing to pray in their behalf. (Incredible Answers To Prayer, Roger Morneau, pp 82-83)

Just previous to this experience, Roger had been wondering and asking God if He answers prayers for the ungodly. The Lord impressed upon his heart that in praying for the ungodly and the wicked, it was necessary to ask Jesus to deal with their burdens of sin, by asking for their sins to be forgiven, which was a new idea to him.

After this incident, he prayed that if it were pleasing in His sight he would like to have another similar experience, one that would again demonstrate the power of the Holy Spirit to bless once the burden of sin had been removed.   This next incident again shows how God works through the Holy Spirit (angels), and man as a team to help change the lives of the wicked. Roger at the time of this experience worked as a telephone ad salesman.  This is what happened.

The manager of a large lumber and building supply operation told me that it would be difficult to talk to the owner about his advertising because he owned other businesses that took him out of town a lot.  The directory canvass supervisor had given me the account to handle, with the understanding that if I could not see the owner on the premises during the canvass time, I could close it over the phone at a later date. After all, the man hadn't changed his advertising program for years. Besides, he had previously refused to make appointments, and seemed to run his businesses according to the way he felt on a particular day.

Because I passed his place of business every day, I stopped every so often.  But it was not until Monday of my last week in the area that the manager informed me that the owner desired additional advertising, and wanted to change some of the copy in his existing ads.  The boss was in, but in a bad mood.  "Too many things to attend to," the manager said.

I asked him to get me a definite appointment to see the owner, or he would find himself having the same program in the coming telephone directory. A message left at the telephone office that afternoon indicated that the owner would see me Wednesday at 10:00  in the morning.

Wednesday was a beautiful day, and up to that time all had gone well.  Entering the establishment, I found it to be a beehive of activity. Spotting the manager from a distance, I made my way to the counter, where he was serving a customer. He told a clerk to finish serving his client, and we walked up to the second floor and the owner's office.

Along the way he mentioned that it was unfortunate that I had to see the boss on this day.  The man was in a really bad mood. To begin with, he had arrived with a somber expression.  "Must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed."  A short while later he exploded when told that a shipment he had been promised for that day had been delayed through unexpected circumstances. "So prepare yourself for anything." the manager warned. "If the boss shouts at you, don't pay attention to him. It's probably the price he has to pay for being wealthy."

Arriving at the glassed-in office, the manager opened the door and announced me. "Have him come in and sit down," the owner replied. "I can't talk to him right now, as I have to make a phone call."  As I entered, he didn't even look at me, but kept shuffling papers on his desk. What a rude person he is, I thought for a moment.

Then I realized that the man was under terrible pressures. His expression reflected internal turmoil. He was undoubtedly a chain smoker, as the office was full of smoke and the ashtray with cigarette butts, and he had a cigarette between his fingers.  After dialing a number on the phone, he began talking to one of his managers in a way I wouldn't have thought possible.

Only a tyrant would have used the abusive language that he blasted the man's ears with.  He was unhappy about the figures shown on the quarterly report of one of his businesses. Profanities flew right and left, and the more he talked, the more brutal he seemed to get.  This fellow is disgusting--he makes me want to vomit, I thought to myself.  Then the memory of my prayer a few days before struck me.

Here indeed was another opportunity to pray for an ungodly person so that I could see God remove the individuals burden of sin and the Holy Spirit (through angels) move with power to help that person "In the battle against principalities and powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and wicked spirits in high places."

Unfortunately I had no desire to pray for him. yes, I knew that it was the right thing to do, and I made a special effort to pray. "Dear Jesus, I need Your help. I just don't feel like praying for this wicked man. In fact, I would like to walk out of here. You have instructed us to love the unlovable, and for that reason I pray for special help now. "Please help me to see this man not as he is now, but as he will be by Your grace on that great day when You will resurrect and translate the people of Your righteousness."  Immediately a sense of pity for the man filled my heart, and I continued to pray.  "Wash away the condemnation that he has brought upon himself by his wicked deeds. Break through I pray, the gigantic wall of separation that he has erected to hide himself from Thy face, thereby depriving himself of the sweet peace of our heavenly Father's love and grace.  "Lord, through the power of Thy Holy Spirit, please rebuke the demonic forces that may have been oppressing this man's mind, driving him to sow misery in the lives of others.  And having done this, please surround him with a divine atmosphere of light and peace as Thy Spirit abides with him this day, speaking to his heart of the ways of righteousness. Thank You, Lord, for always hearing my petitions for help to the needy."

I determined there and then that this man was going to be in my daily prayers.  Immediately I felt the powerful presence of the Spirit of God. I should mention here that my Christian experience has never been dependent upon my feelings, but upon a "Thus saith the Lord."  At times when the going has been rough I have been tempted to believe that God has left me to carry my burden alone, but in the end I come to see how graciously the Spirit of God (through His angels)  was watching over me.

It wasn't more than five seconds before I witnessed a transformation in the man as great as night and day. His conversation took on a new sense of direction.  Instead of talking almost continually and shouting profanities, he softened the tone of his voice and began to speak with what appeared to be intelligent reasoning. Long pauses gave the other person a chance to explain the situation. The conversation closed on what appeared to be a tensionless note, and he hung up the phone.  His stern expression that had at first appeared as unchangeable as some of those seen on monuments in city parks now softened. A smile took form as he turned toward me.

"I am Dennis D." and he stood up behind his desk to extend his hand toward me in a friendly way. "Roger Morneau here." I said as I firmly shook his hand. "It's nice meeting you, Roger. It's too bad that you happened to come on a day when everything is running rough."  Then he corrected himself. "I shouldn't be giving you the impression that the conversation you have just witnessed is a rare occurrence. To be honest with you, I must admit that I am--I am at times a madman, I am not crazy or deranged in any way, but there is something strange here.

I can't understand why I get so steamed up at times over things that no one has any power to change.  Such incidents seem to be more frequent and powerful as time passes. Too often I feel an uncontrollable anger building up within, and I lash out at everybody."

I could tell that the man was deeply distressed by his situation. "If it weren't for the fact that I pay my managers twice as much as they are worth, none of them would work for me."

Suddenly he realized that he was talking to a complete stranger. "What am I doing, telling you the secrets of my life? Please excuse me for dumping my problems on you. Let's talk advertising."

"Mr. D, please relax, and trust me," I said, "The very first requirement of my job is to keep in strict confidence whatever my advertisers tell me, and I have successfully done that for years. Quite frequently people tell me things they have told no one else, stating that they feel comfortable in my presence and believe that it is better to open one's heart to a stranger than to someone who knows them well."

His reply surprised me some, as it was totally unexpected. "Roger, I agree with what your customers say. I can feel a power accompanying you that I don't know exactly how to explain, except to say that it is out of this world. I have never before experienced the peace and quiet that I do now."

"Thank you, sir, for telling me that. Mr. D., I feel that it is important for me to add that from the moment you began talking over the phone, I turned my heart in prayer to the great Monarch of the galaxies, the Life-giver, asking that He would bless your life with the presence of His Spirit that alone can bring peace and help to those in this world."

He studied me for a moment, then said, "I gave up on religion and God a long time ago.  But today you have given me something to think about: the Monarch of the galaxies and His power to touch people's lives in a meaningful way. I like that thought. Don't get me wrong, I am not thinking of going to church or anything like that, but would you be kind enough to keep me in your prayers? I sure would appreciate that."

After I assured him that I would be honored to add his name to my prayer list, we then updated his advertising program. As I got up to leave, he said, "Let me walk down with you, as I have to go downstairs anyway."

On the way, I asked him how he had built such a fine business operation. His face lit up, and he told stories all the way to the front door. Shaking my hand as we parted, he asked if I would be kind enough to see him at the beginning of the telephone directory canvass the following year.

I did not work the directory that year, but I found myself visiting the area two years later as division sales manager, and went on that call with the fellow who had the account.  The man was delighted to see me again,  and was very courteous and while a new ad was being set up, he had me walk with him to another office to meet his accountant.

After introducing us, he stated that I was the person who had given him a new lease on life, and at the same time saved him a bundle of money, as he no longer had any need "to see his shrink."

A great transformation had taken place in that individual's life. He was vibrant with the joy of living. On the wall in back of his desk hung a lovely plaque with "Prayer changes things" inscribed on it.

Indeed it does--and in this particular instance, I am inclined to believe that of all the blessings received, I was the greater beneficiary of the two of us. That prayer experience had straightened out my warped reasoning that for a number of years had kept me from asking for special help for the ungodly. But from that time on,  the Lord was able to use me to open the way so that His Spirit could then move in a marvelous manner to benefit the lives of many others. (Ibid pp 84-89)

The above incidences show how closely the Lord with His angels desires to work with man for the salvation of those in bondage to Satan, and the powerful and dramatic effect it can have to change lives.  Thus it can be seen how both angels and man are servants and messengers, working together to bring salvation to fallen man.

WORK OF HOLY SPIRIT AND ANGELS THE SAME:

In the Bible a study of angels and the Holy Spirit reveals that their work is identical. In many of the books of Ellen White, prophet of yesteryear, reference is made over and over about the work of angels and the Holy Spirit.  Her descriptions of the two are almost identical. Angels then are the carriers of God's Spirit.

To expand this idea further, angels are not only servants and messengers, but are described in Scripture as ministering SPIRITS, ministering to His created intelligent beings not only on earth, but on every inhabited planet in His infinite cosmos.

Putting it  another  way,  ANGELS ARE  MINISTERING SPIRIT'S AN EXTENSION OF GOD'S SPIRIT WHICH IS LOVE. As they do His bidding in running the affairs of His universe, they disseminate throughout the cosmos God's Grace, His "LOVE IN ACTION."

"Since God is love and angels exist to manifest and serve him,  then what angels do is reveal, prove, and display God's love. Angels carry the love of God where He wants it this day, this moment. And since the Heavenly Father's love is limitless, another fact follows--angels may be found doing anything, any time, any place, any way to help God's people." (Brush of An Angel's Wing, by Charlie W. Shedd).

ANGELS REPRESENT GOD'S SPIRIT:

Ephesians 6:17 says that the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.  As we learned earlier, Wisdom and the Holy Spirit are synonymous spirits. expanding upon this idea, note the following texts:  Wherein  he hath  abounded toward us in all  wisdom  and  prudence (UNDERSTANDING); ...That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.  The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what is the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. Eph 1:8,17,18.

James tells us it is the anointing of the Holy Spirit "that teacheth...of all things."  Is not this the very same Spirit of Wisdom?   "But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you; but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." James 2:27.

James also addresses himself to Wisdom and agrees perfectly with what the other writers have said. But he goes farther in that he enumerates the fruits of the Spirit and credits them to Wisdom. "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.... The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. and the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace." James 3:13,17,18.

Angels are very much like a mirror of God's mind, a reflection of the glory and light of God's mind a visible extension of the Heavenly Spirit. An angel is the channel through whom the Holy Spirit speaks to a person. The thoughts and words are those of God, our heavenly Father and His Son Jesus, spoken by Their Holy Spirit, brought to man by angel, who reflect the light from the mind of God.

Thus angels are messengers of God and ministering spirits, extensions of God's Spirit who are used to implant His Spirit within man. The Holy Spirit implanted by angels is the reason God the Father and His Son can be omnipresent, or present everywhere in the universe at once. When one prays and asks for the Holy Spirit, no matter how busy God might be, an angel will be sent to impart His Spirit to the person.

RANKS OR CLASSES OF ANGELS:

The Bible specifically identifies three classes or ranks of angels, but infers by the activities described other classes also. The names given these classes probably describes their assigned work. But the descriptions given also indicates that change takes place along with a name change, possibly indicating that they work up through different ranks or a different order. Two classes or ranks specifically mentioned in the Bible are "Cherubim" and "Seraphim."

CHERUBIMS (Cherub singular):

The word possibly means "to bless" or "to pray," and may describe the work they are assigned. The Bible says that Cherubim were placed to guard the entrance of the Garden of Eden. Cherubim were the figures placed on the Ark of the Covenant. In poetic, symbolic language, a cherub is referred to as the carrier of God (2 Sam. 22:11; Ps 18:10), and God is described as enthroned between Cherubim or above them (Ps. 99:1; Isa. 37:16).

One thing a Cherub is not. They are not baby angels as depicted by artists and sculptors. They are mighty angels who stand around God's throne. Nowhere in the Bible are Cherubim represented as objects of worship, and therefore cannot have been divine beings.

They appear everywhere in the service of God, and usually in His immediate presence. In poetic, symbolic language they are represented as carrying God, or as guarding or overshadowing His throne. Ezekiel called the angels around the throne of God Cherubim. Each had four wings. Two covered their bodies, and two were joined together with the angels next to them. (Eze. 1:6,11,23)

SERAPHIM (Seraph singular):

In the Hebrew, the word Seraphim, means "burning one" or "fiery." Isaiah, like Ezekiel, saw these celestial beings before the throne of God, but instead of having four wings, each one had six wings. Like Ezekiel, two wings were joined together with the next angel, two covered their bodies, but unlike the angels in Ezekiel's vision, two wings were used to fly, possibly an indication of growth or advancement (Isa. 6:2,6), for Isaiah lived after Ezekiel's time. Another unknown is whether the wings are literal or symbolic, for wings often symbolize swiftness of flight. Isaiah heard the seraphs chanting, "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts:: the whole earth is full of his glory:" (v 3).

Upon Isaiah's confession of sin, one of the seraphs took a burning coal from the altar and with it touched the prophet's lips, indicating purification from iniquity (vs 5-7). The Bible provides no other identity to of these beings. The meaning of the word Seraph, may indicate their brilliant appearance, of glory that radiates from them as they stand around the throne.

In Isaiah 6, the designation "seraphim" may be associated with administering symbolic purification by fire. They are intelligent beings who honor God and minister to Him. From the Bible's description of these two orders or ranks of angels, it appears their assignment is to minister directly to God around the throne.

ARCHANGEL:

Archangel is one other order of angel mentioned in the Bible which has to do with the Chief of all the angels. There is only one archangel, and that angel is MICHAEL, who is God's Son who came to earth in human form as Yahshua or Jesus. He is different from the other angels in that He is the Creator and not the created.

It was He who spoke into existence the angels who follow Him and His directions. He is their Commander-in-Chief. And it was He with His angels who cast Satan and the rebellious angels out of heaven. His name means, "One who is like God."

In Daniel 10:13, he is described as "one of the chief princes" who came to the help of an angel in battle with the prince of Persia, which was Satan. In verse 21 he is described as "Your prince," and in chap 12:1 as "the great prince."

In Revelation 12:1 he is mentioned as having fought in heaven with the dragon, that is, Satan (v 9) and the dragons angels, a fight that ended with the victory of Michael and the expulsion of Satan from heaven. Jude 9 tells of a contest between Michael and the devil over the body of Moses.

OTHER CLASSES OF ANGELS?:

The vast numbers of angels available to run the Universe and affairs here on earth, indicates there are far more of them that God has serving Him around His throne. Many of these other angels can be identified by the Bibles description of what they do.

Beyond this personal encounters people have had with angels, give us another window of light about their work and mission. The following is a short list the various angel groups.

LEADERS:

Before his fall Lucifer was described as the highest order of angel in heaven, and director of the angels choir. When Lucifer was cast out of heaven because of pride, Gabriel was raised in rank to replace him.

HOSTS:

Angels are referred to as the "Host of Heaven," which is a figurative expression depicting the various celestial bodies as an army.

CURRIERS:

These angels sometimes seen in visions and dreams have only two wings and may be those who are heaven's curriers, ministering and bringing messages, warnings, and instruction to the inhabitants of the universe.

GUARDIANS AND GUIDES:

These are the angels assigned to guard, guide and protect each person born. There appears to be at least one to every person. Before sin, these angels may have worked as instructors and teachers to Adam and Eve, instructing them about God's universe and guide them in learning about the infinite wisdom and mysteries of God and His universe.

OTHER:

Other names for angels are sometimes in Scripture, and are sometimes referred to as the "celestial hierarchy." These may very well indicate ranks, orders of beings or be job descriptions: They are: watchers, sons of God, chariots of God, holy ones, morning stars, thrones, powers, rulers, authorities, heavenly bodies, miracles. and the four living creatures.

WHAT DO ANGELS DO?

The Bible describes many activities of angels. Here is a list of 25 out of hundreds mentioned which shows the scope of their activity.
--Angels announce (carry messages) -- Luke 1:26-33, 2:8-12 --Angels warn -- Matthew 2:13 --Angels advise --Matthew 1:18-23 --Angels praise God -- Luke 2:13-14 --Angels eat -- Psalm 78:25 --Angels fly -- Found 12 times in the Bible?  --Angels ascend and descend -- Genesis 28:12; John 1:51  --Angels guard -- Psalm 34:7 --Angels protest -- Zechariah 3:4 --Angels comfort -- Acts 27:23-24 --Angels heal -- Job 33:20-24 --Angels speak the truth -- Hebrews 2:2 --Angels talk to and with people -- Zechariah 1:9; Luke 1:34-35 --Angels preach -- Galatians 1:8 --Angels proclaim -- Revelation 5:2 --Angels find the lost -- Genesis 16:7 --Angels feed and provide -- 1 Kings 19:5-7 --Angels minister to Christ -- Matthew 4:11; Mark 1:13 --Angels minister to people -- Hebrews 1:14 --Angels set free -- Acts 5:19; 12:7-9 --Angels give direction -- Acts 8:26 --Angels save from death -- Daniel 6:22 --Angels fight our battle -- Exodus 33:2 --Angels stir up the waters (manifest) -- John 5:4 --Angels worship -- Isaiah 6:2-5; Revelation 5:11-12.

There is an infinite amount of knowledge to learn about in God's universe. In the new earth, the saints will be learning and studying for eternity about the intricacies of God's plan of salvation, of nature, the nature of God, learning how to sing, play, and work. No doubt angels will be our instructors as they were to Adam and Eve.

After the fall of Adam and Eve these teaching angels may have had their work changed to that of protector from the enemy's attack upon Adam and Eve and their posterity, thus becoming guardians in times of spiritual as well as physical danger. As far as planet earth is concerned, angelic work involves every aspect and facet of our human existence. From the moment of conception on, an angel (possibly more) is assigned by God as the guardian and guide of that fetus, and will follow it from the cradle to the grave. God's charge to the angel is for him to help guide, instruct, and protect mankind.

Just as Seraphim and Cherubim depicts the work of these angels, those who administer the fruits of the Holy Spirit are given the names of the fruits. The Angel Of Peace ministers peace. The Angel Of Comfort brings comfort. Truth, Love, Righteousness, Faith, Hope, are administered by angels who impart these traits of God's Spirit or character to man when needed.

Likewise, the other side of God's character is also administered by angels, such as justice, mercy, destruction, and vengeance, as God directs them in the affairs of the world. The names of angels often end in "iel," "ual," or "ael," like Gabriel, Phanuel, Raphael, Urial and Michael. Their names are commensurate with their rank. These are high-ranking angels. Those of lesser rank are named by the work they do,

The names of these angels may describe an emotion, like "The Angel of Joy" who brings joy to people. "The Angel of Comfort" brings comfort. "The Angel of Peace" brings peace, etc. The same rule applies to evil angels. "The Angel of Fear" creates fear in the hearts of those it inhabits. "The Angel of Doubt" will ever be present to plant the seeds of doubt.

HOW DO ANGELS COMMUNICATE?

Angels (God) communicate with man in two ways -- 1) Either from the outside his body (external circumstances) or 2) inside (internally through man's mind). Within these two modes angels show an infinite variety of ways to direct, guide and lead in the lives of people to show God's infinite love, care, mercy, and tenderness. "For he shall give his angel's charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone." (Ps. 91:11,12) "To keep" does not mean angels force a person's will, for they will never do that. God's government operates only on the principle of willing obedience. But God does use angels to provide circumstances to help a person make up their mind what to do. One way might be by opening and closing doors of opportunity to nudge us in the right direction, to make the right choice.

When Do Angels Communicate With Us? Angels communicate with humans 1) When we are heartbroken or facing a difficult decision. 2) When we face temptation. 3) When we are doing God's will. 4) At the time of death. 5) Now in this end of time angels will be constant companions, guides and protectors of those who love God and keep His commandments.

Direct Communication From Jesus or the Father:

There are times when the Lord chooses to bypass angels to communicate directly. One of those times is during the night sessions when the person is awakened by request to commune with the Lord. This is when that intimate personal one-to-one communion between the individual and heaven takes place. This is the time of silent conversation in which angels do not take part, because they cannot read our unspoken thoughts.

Whether God speaks directly to us or works through His angels is up to Him, and depends upon the circumstances. Why He chooses to speak directly at one time and through an angel intermediary at another time we do not understand. It may be because of the importance of a message, or possibly to show how intimately they are involved with each person who is part of Their family.
